Greetings once again -- and many thanks for your prompt response.

I will certainly be chasing up the contacts you have provided.

Do you by any chance know anybody a SympatheticResonaces whom I might be able to contact?

Blessings.

Hello Zii, thanks for your message.
Ms N'wa-Phaphama Madali Dolphin Mabale from the Dept. of Human Sciences at the University of Venda may be a good person to approach. She has an interest in mbila deza and was helpful when I made enquiries.

Prof Aude Julien Da Cruz Lima from the University of Paris Nanterre (UPN) in France is the only academic that I know of who has made an in depth study of mbila deza for a Master's degree, but I am not an academic myself, so there may be others too.

Prof Jaco Kruger from Northwest University here in South Africa is an expert on Venda music who may also be able to help you.

Good luck with your research, it sounds fascinating and I do hope we get to hear more about it!

Regards Ian

Greetings.

Much appreciated article.

I have just come across this when googling mbila dzamateza as I am interested in the re-connection of Zimbabwe mbira culture and the Venda tradition.

In particular I would like to explore the developmental context and history of the mirrored mbira dzevadzimu mentioned in one of Andrew Tracey's paper -- Possibly "Original African Mbira".

Guidance of where to find information on Venda history and culture will be much appreciated.

Blessings.
